The step by step directions below will guide you through the production procedures to assist you in radio broadcasting.

These instructions are exclusive for the PCDJ (Red Version) program. Once you have installed the PCDJ Program you can then refer to these instructions to begin production of your first radio programs. We will provide a director to assist you for your first shows until such  a time you feel confident enough to produce on your own. Be patient, learning the program and the fundamentals of broadcasting should be the exciting part of your production, enjoy it.

  1. Open PCDJ Program.

  2. Load a music disc into your CDrom tray.

  3. Open music list.

  4. Highlight song (Click W+ button)

  5. Click WL button next to find.

  6. Click on time button

  7. Pick first song.

  8. Click blue eject button on left.

  9. Click Pilot.

  10. Click CFG (upper right)

  11. click software tab (on left)

  12. uncheck black background

  13. Don't hit exit button.

  14. If using windows 98 leave black background.

  15. Click STBY (upper right to minimize).

  16. Double click speaker on lower right toolbar.

  17. Click on options.

  18. Click on properties.

  19. Click on button (recording)

  20. On the microphone gain click on advance properties then click mic boost ON.

  21. Record must be in stereo mix.

  22. Click on Options, then display, then playback

  23. Click on MUTE MIC.

  24. Minimize MIC properties, you'll need to use this for turning MIC on/off.

  25. Click on Ripp (bottom right)

  26. Record from line.

  27. To Record: Fill in Artist, Track, Album (note: you are the artist, show name etc.).

  28. MP3 Bitrate to be minimum 128.

  29. Max Length (set limit for show length, 30min, 60 min etc.).

  30. Set File name & save to desktop ( my show# 33)

  31. Run MIC check

  32. Use headphones when recording to avoid feedback (turn speakers OFF).

  33. Start Recording( If error, unclick line - record from- re-enter info).

  34. Re-submit names and repeat ( set file name).

  35. Prior to recording check in playback mode that both the master & wave are both up

  36. System will create mp3 file and will say DONE when conversion is complete.
